President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians for their goodwill and support as he celebrates his 74th birthday, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to national progress despite ongoing challenges.
In a personal message released from Aso Villa on Sunday, the President thanked citizens across the country for their prayers, solidarity, and patriotic support, noting that the encouragement has strengthened his resolve to serve.
He also acknowledged the gestures of well-wishers who placed congratulatory messages in newspapers and sponsored radio and television broadcasts in his honour.
President Tinubu extended special appreciation to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her heartfelt words, as well as Vice President Kashim Shettima for his tribute.
The President revealed that, in line with his tradition and in consideration of the current national mood, he opted for a low-key celebration this year.
Reflecting on the journey of his administration, Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced since the introduction of key reforms but expressed optimism that the sacrifices made are beginning to yield results.
He pointed to emerging signs of progress, while also noting that global developments, particularly the ongoing Middle East crisis, have posed temporary setbacks.
“The credit for the positive outcomes we have achieved does not belong solely to me or the government. We achieved the gains together,” he stated.
As his administration approaches its third anniversary, the President reiterated his commitment to tackling pressing national issues and building a more resilient and prosperous Nigeria.
He called on Nigerians to remain united and supportive, emphasizing that collective effort remains vital to overcoming current challenges and securing a brighter future.
President Tinubu concluded by urging citizens to continue working together to make Nigeria a source of pride across Africa.
