President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro as the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, replacing Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who recently assumed office as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, inside the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, alongside Mr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, the new Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology.
Dr. Doro, a pharmacist and lawyer from Plateau State, was confirmed by the Senate in late October after a screening that highlighted his commitment to strengthening humanitarian services and advancing poverty reduction initiatives nationwide.
Following the ceremony, President Tinubu presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, during which Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, briefed members on the administration’s economic reform progress.
In his remarks, President Tinubu reaffirmed his government’s determination to tackle the nation’s challenges head-on, stressing the importance of collaboration and renewed focus among cabinet members.
“Despite the political headwind, we will continue to engage with our partners. The task ahead is immense, but we are resolved to move forward with unity and purpose, guided by our Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria,” the President said.
Dr. Doro is expected to bring his multidisciplinary expertise to bear in coordinating humanitarian policies in line with the President renewed hope agenda.
