TMSG to ADC: Fix Internal Crisis, Stop Blaming Tinubu, APC

The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has urged the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to address its internal challenges rather than blaming President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its woes.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, the group described as “wicked, malicious and preposterous” allegations by the ADC that there was a plot to make Bola Ahmed Tinubu the sole presidential candidate in 2027.

TMSG dismissed claims by the ADC leadership of an alleged attempt to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise a faction of the party other than the group led by former Senate President, David Mark.

The group also rejected insinuations that unnamed figures in the APC were behind internal disagreements within the ADC, describing such claims as baseless and laughable.

According to TMSG, the crisis within the ADC predates recent political developments and is rooted in disputes following the alleged takeover of the party structure by a faction linked to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in July 2025.

It noted that the process, which reportedly involved former party chairman Ralph Nwosu, was immediately contested by another faction within the party over alleged violations of internal procedures, including bypassing the National Executive Committee (NEC).

TMSG further cited comments by a factional spokesman, Christopher Okechukwu, who had accused the David Mark-led group of attempting a “hostile takeover” of the party without following due process.

The group questioned why the ADC would implicate President Tinubu and the APC in what it described as a purely internal dispute, especially as the matter is already before the courts.

It argued that the challenges facing the ADC were self-inflicted, stemming from a failure to conduct due diligence during coalition negotiations and an apparent attempt to adopt a political platform without proper groundwork.

TMSG emphasized that building a viable political party requires time, structure, and discipline, noting that the APC’s current standing was the result of years of effort by its leaders.

The group advised the ADC leadership to look inward and pursue practical solutions to its internal disagreements instead of blaming external forces for its difficulties.
