The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has confirmed receipt of an appeal concerning alleged alterations of corporate records and related administrative actions involving JonahCapital Nigeria Limited and Houses for Africa Nigeria Limited.
In a statement issued by the Ministry and signed by Obilor-Duru Augustina Okechi, Head of Press and Public Relations, the appeal addressed to the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole was acknowledged and said to be under administrative review.
The Ministry disclosed that the issues raised in the appeal are presently the subject of ongoing judicial proceedings before courts of competent jurisdiction, including the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory and the Federal High Court, Abuja. It noted that there are subsisting suits and interlocutory orders directing all parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the substantive disputes.
According to the statement, the Ministry reiterated its firm respect for the judiciary and its commitment to constitutionalism, the rule of law, and strict adherence to the doctrine of sub judice. It emphasised that its engagement with the appeal is not intended to interfere with, pre-empt, or influence the outcome of the pending court cases.
The Ministry further clarified that, notwithstanding the pendency of the matters before the courts, the appeal has been taken under advisement and is being reviewed strictly within the limits of its administrative oversight responsibilities, and without prejudice to the ongoing judicial processes or existing court orders.
It also reassured stakeholders that it will act with restraint, fairness, and institutional propriety, stressing that no action will be taken that could compromise the integrity of judicial determination. Relevant agencies and parties were urged to respect subsisting court orders and allow due process to run its full course.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering investor confidence, upholding due process, and ensuring that Nigeria’s regulatory and institutional frameworks operate transparently and in accordance with the law.
