Troops of the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), operating under Operation HADIN KAI, have sustained aggressive military offensives across the North-East theatre, neutralised several terrorists and recovered arms as well as logistics supplies during recent operations.
According to a press statement issued on Saturday by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, the successes were recorded under Operation DESERT SANITY V, a coordinated campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds and disrupting their supply networks.
In Sector 2, troops working alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force carried out a night operation around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages, where scores of terrorists were neutralised. Security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles, and several mobile phones during the operation.
Military sources disclosed that further exploitation conducted along the terrorists’ withdrawal route revealed drag marks and a shallow grave, suggesting additional casualties among the fleeing insurgents.
Similarly, troops in Sector 1 engaged suspected terrorists attempting to escape through the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis while trying to cross a major supply route. The insurgents reportedly fled under pressure, abandoning two sacks containing assorted logistics items believed to be intended for terrorist elements.
The military noted that although the general security situation across the theatre remains calm, it is still unpredictable. Nonetheless, troops were said to maintain high morale and operational efficiency while continuing to dominate their areas of responsibility.
The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups, including Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province, until lasting peace and economic stability are restored across the North-East region.
Operation HADIN KAI authorities also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information to enhance ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
