The Trade Union Congress (TUC) Nigeria Women Commission has presented the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Oluwaseun Faleye, with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his visionary leadership, commitment to gender equity, and contributions to women development.
The award was presented during the International Women’s Day celebration and Award Night organised by the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria Women Commission in Abuja.
Presenting the award, the Chairperson of the TUC Nigeria Women Commission, Esther Asabe Ahmadu, said Faleye deserved the honour because of his “visionary leadership, integrity and outstanding service, which have inspired progress and lasting impact.”
Ahmadu noted that the award was in appreciation of Faleye’s “unwavering support and strong commitment to advancing gender equality, promoting decent work, and protecting the rights and dignity of women in the world of work.”
According to her, the NSITF boss has demonstrated a deep understanding of the need for an inclusive and equitable workplace through consistent support for initiatives that empower women, promote fairness, and strengthen social protection for workers.
While receiving the award, Faleye expressed gratitude to the TUC Women Commission for recognising what he described as his humble efforts. He dedicated the award to the hardworking staff of the renewed NSITF, noting that the achievements recorded by the organisation would not have been possible without their dedication.
He reiterated his commitment to advancing gender inclusiveness and equality, as well as promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all workers.
The award night, held in Abuja on Wednesday, capped a series of activities organised by the Commission to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day.
