UYOTA to Host Africa Youth Agri-Business Summit 2025 to Empower Young Entrepreneurs

A non governmental organization, Uplifting Youths Through Agriculture (UYOTA) is set to host the Africa Youth Agri-Business Summit 2025, themed “Agriculture: The Key to Economic Empowerment, Sustainable Development and Food Security in Africa.”

The summit, scheduled for November 2025, aimed to ignite youth interest in agribusiness and equip them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive in the agricultural value chain.

Speaking at a press conference, Prince Nnamdi Adigwe, Co-Founder of UYOTA, said the summit will serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and improved access to financing and investments across the agro-sector. The event will also focus on addressing climate-related challenges affecting agriculture. Adigwe emphasized that the goal is to achieve food sovereignty by actively engaging young people in agriculture as a profitable, sustainable venture.

In his remarks,UYOTA’s National Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Bola Ojo, expressed the group’s commitment to aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s agricultural revolution agenda.

Ojo praised the government’s agricultural policies and pledged UYOTA’s collaboration with federal and subnational authorities to ensure food security and youth inclusion in national development.

He said “The summit will bring together young people from across Africa, providing a unique opportunity for them to learn, network, and showcase their innovative ideas in agribusiness”.

With partnerships from countries like South Africa and Ghana, as well as the Nigerian Ministry of Youth Development, the summit promised to be a significant event in the agricultural calendar.

Fatima Saliu, Deputy Convener of the summit, emphasized that the event will provide a platform for young people to explore the potential of agriculture and agribusiness, and to make informed decisions about their future in the sector. She noted that the summit will be a game-changer for Nigerian and African youths, leveraging their energy, intelligence, and creativity to make agribusiness attractive and profitable.

The summit will also feature a panel discussion on genetically modified organisms (GMOs), where experts will present different perspectives on the topic. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, and experts in the field, and to gain insights into the latest trends and innovations in agribusiness.
