WDCL partners Rolon Seals to boost Investment and Innovation in Africa’s Energy Sector

Western Development Company Limited (WDCL), a leading indigenous oil and gas services provider, has reaffirmed its commitment to driving investment and innovation across Africa’s energy sector through a strategic partnership with India-based firm, Rolon Seals.

Speaking during the Nigerian Oil and Gas Week in Abuja, Chief Operating Officer of WDCL, Obinna Okoroigwe, highlighted the company’s long-standing experience and growing footprint in the sector.

“We are here today exhibiting alongside our partners from India, Rolon Seals, at the Nigerian Oil and Gas Week,” he said. “Western Development Company Limited has been offering comprehensive services to local and international oil and gas companies for over 25 years. These include procurement, engineering, and construction in mechanical, electrical, civil, and instrumentation disciplines for both onshore and offshore projects.”

He added that the company is expanding its portfolio to include oil drilling, well completion and maintenance, as well as marine services such as provision of barges, tugboats, personnel carriers, and security vessels, with a strategic focus on shallow and deep offshore operations.

Onilede Solomon, WDCL’s General Manager of Operations, further emphasized the company’s role as a trusted service provider to major players such as Shell, Chevron, Mobil, NNPC, and other indigenous producers.

“Our services cut across IT, mechanical, electrical, marine, and security operations. We have been consistent in delivering high-quality services for nearly three decades. One of our key technical partners is Rolon Seals, whose mechanical seal products are now widely used by major clients like the Dangote Refinery for their durability and cost-efficiency,” Solomon stated.

Representing Rolon Seals, expert-manager Jonathan Praveen expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration and the opportunity to expand their footprint in Africa.

“Rolon Seals has over 25 years of experience in mechanical seal production and service delivery. We are proud to partner with WDCL in Nigeria. Our goal is to showcase our capabilities and pursue business opportunities across the continent. We prioritize fast and reliable service delivery, and we are excited about the prospects this partnership offers,” Praveen said.

The WDCL–Rolon Seals partnership is expected to further strengthen the value chain in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and position both firms as innovation-driven players in Africa’s energy transition.
