Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has said his administration will not embark on any project that will not be completed.
Engineer Sule stated this while hosting members of the Moroa community in Akwanga Local Government Area, who were on a thank-you visit at his Gudi country home, on Saturday.
According to the Governor, his administration was only embarking on projects that the lean finances of the state can afford, stressed that he won’t embark on any project that he will not be able to finish.
Responding to the request by the community for government to construct additional roads in the area, especially the remaining 4km linking the Moroa community to the border with Kaduna State, Engineer Sule said his administration was considering opening up Bakin Kogi and Angwan Lemu, in order to further spread the dividends of democracy to the people.
He assured that the road linking Mararaban Agwan Takwa with Maroa, will be considered in the next phase of projects.
Engineer Sule explained that he was taking the projects one at a time depending on the available resources in the state, as according to him, it will not augur well to begin a project and fail to be contractors.
The Governor expressed satisfaction when the community members informed about the ongoing electrification project in Maroa.
Earlier in an opening remarks, leader of the Maroa community delegation, Armaya’u Umar, said they were in Gudi to thank the Governor for completing the Maroa-Gudi road, as well as for embarking on the electrification of the community.
While appreciating the Governor for bringing development to the community, Umar expressed appreciation that the ongoing electrification project has reached Maroa town, with a transformer already on ground to see to the completion of the job.
While praying for the success of the administration, the Moroa community used the opportunity of the visit, to request for the state government to consider extending the road project to cover the remaining four kilometres linking the area with Kaduna State.
According to Umar, residents of Bakin Kogi and Angwan Lemu, have suffered frequent attacks from armed robbers, stressing that if the area is opened up, there will be less of such incidents.
