Oyo State gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Usman Ololade Bakare, has congratulated Christians across the world on the celebration of Christmas and the New Year, urging them to uphold the enduring values of love, sacrifice, compassion and hope.
In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday, Dr. Bakare described Christmas as a season that reinforces unity among Christians, irrespective of ethnic, cultural or social differences.
The cybersecurity expert noted that the Christmas season calls for renewed commitment to caring for one another, uplifting the vulnerable in society and strengthening bonds of unity that make communities resilient and progressive.
Reflecting on the outgoing year, Bakare said it had tested the patience and resolve of the people, but also revealed their strength, creativity and perseverance. According to him, the spirit of hard work, enterprise and solidarity among residents has further strengthened his belief in the vision of the IGBEGA OYO Project.
“As we step into the New Year, let us renew our faith with the promise of a better tomorrow. With visionary leadership and collective effort, we will build an Oyo State where citizens across the five zones feel safe, empowered and hopeful,” he said.
Dr. Bakare prayed for peace in the homes of all Oyo State residents and beyond, expressing optimism that 2026 would usher in prosperity, progress and renewed confidence in the state’s shared destiny.
He concluded by wishing Christians a Merry Christmas and all citizens a happy and prosperous New Year.
