Tinubu appoints special investigator to probe CBN amid Emefiele trial

Following the alleged decay in the Central Bank of Nigeria, the President Bola Tinubu, has appointed a special investigator to probe the apex bank.   In a letter dated July 28, 2023, the president named the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Jim Obaze, as the special investigator.   Tinubu charged the Special Investigator to investigate CBN and key government business entities.   The investigator is expected to report directly to the President’s office.   The letter read, “In accordance with the fundamental objective set forth…
