2024 Christmas Message:President Tinubu extends Hope and Unity

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his 2024 Christmas message, has called on Nigerians to embrace the season’s essence of love, peace, and unity while reflecting on the birth of Jesus Christ. The President described Christmas as a celebration that transcends religion, embodying the triumph of light over darkness and providing hope for all.

 

Expressing sadness over recent tragic events, including the stampedes in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, President Tinubu offered prayers and condolences to the victims and their families.

 

“We earnestly pray that such misfortunes do not revisit our families and communities,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of faith and compassion during challenging times.

 

Acknowledging the struggles faced by many Nigerians this year, including those affected by floods, fires, and other accidents, the President urged citizens to show kindness and support to one another, regardless of financial status. “Kindness transcends wealth. Sometimes, a smile or a word of encouragement can uplift even the most downtrodden,” he noted.

 

The President also paid tribute to the nation’s armed forces, lauded their bravery and sacrifices in protecting Nigeria. He called on Nigerians to support their efforts through prayers and solidarity.

 

In addressing the nation’s trajectory, Tinubu expressed optimism, highlighting that Nigeria is on a path of restoration and progress. He reassured citizens of the government’s commitment to fostering a prosperous future.

 

As part of measures to ensure safety and convenience during the festive season, the President announced free train services and subsidized road transport across 144 routes nationwide, aimed at easing travel burdens for Nigerians.

 

President Tinubu wished all Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, urged them to embody the spirit of the season through hope, faith, and love.
