He also showcased AVA the Afrimash Virtual Advisor on WhatsApp which provides instant AI-powered guidance on feeding, disease control, and breed selection, including support through voice notes in local languages.
The Governor expressed enthusiasm about the tools, noting their practicality for farmers in rural and underserved areas who often lack access to reliable information and quality inputs. This reinforced a key theme throughout the summit: Afrimash’s impact is anchored not just in product sales, but in empowering Nigerian farmers with credible, accessible solutions.
Oyedotun’s expertise is backed by over a decade of experience in agricultural technology. Before the rise of today’s agritech ecosystem, he contributed significantly to the development of the USSD and mobile infrastructure that powered the Fertilizer Subsidy and Voucher Programme—later the Growth Enhancement Support Scheme (GES)—while at Cellulant. That platform helped eliminate corruption in the input distribution chain by ensuring subsidies reached genuine farmers, setting a benchmark for GovTech innovation in Nigeria.
While Afrimash remained firmly rooted in Ibadan, its footprint now spans the country. Thousands of farmers depend on the platform for verified livestock inputs, vetted suppliers, secure transactions, and doorstep deliveries. For many users, Afrimash has become more than an online marketplace—it is a dependable partner in their farming journey.
