The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has unveiled a new capacity-building programme to train mid-level officers in the Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) departments of federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The initiative, developed in partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and the Central Result Delivery Coordination Unit (CRDCU), is aimed at strengthening governance systems and enhancing service delivery through improved strategic planning, data analysis and policy implementation.
Executive Vice Chair of the Foundation, Mrs. Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, explained the vision behind the project, noting that effective planning and accountability were essential to a responsive public sector.
“We believe in a Nigeria where every citizen can feel the impact of good governance where children receive quality education, mothers have access to safe healthcare, and communities benefit from thoughtful planning and delivery. That future starts with strong public sector leaders who are equipped to plan, track and deliver results. This training is about empowering those leaders,” she said.
Participants will be exposed to practical modules on monitoring and evaluation, digital planning tools, research methods and data-driven decision-making. Beyond technical expertise, the programme will also encourage collaboration, innovation and a results-oriented culture across MDAs.
The initiative built on the Foundation’s sustained commitment to public sector reform. In recent years, it has supported MDAs with training in policy writing, communications, project management and digital skills, in addition to conducting institutional needs assessments.
Founded by Mr. Aigboje and Mrs. Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, the Foundation is dedicated to improving lives through effective governance and greater access to quality healthcare. It also provided strategic support and funding to organisations such as ABC Health, the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN), and the Nigerian Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF).
