The Senate President Godswill Akpabio has cleared air on issue surrounding his health status amidst rumors of his ill health sequel to the reports making its round that he collapsed on Thursday at a colloquium organized in his honor to mark his 61st birthday in Abuja.
The Senate President Godswill Akpabio while addressing National Assembly correspondents on Friday in his office , dispelled rumour of his collapse at the Abuja event, admitted that he was exhausted due to his engagements in the past weeks and his Doctors confirmed that he had malaria, which has been treated,and he was not rush to national hospital as rumoured .He added that he is back to duties as President of the 10th Senate to attend to crucial legislative activities ahead.
“After the event, it was a show of humanity, so I went home and called my doctors, and I was told I have malaria mingled with stress, and the stress could be described in another way exhaustion”Akpabio said.
Akpabio therefore reaffirmed the 10th Senate commitments to general well being of Nigerians,added that National Assembly will ensure passage of 2024 Appropriation bill before the year ended.
He seized the occasion to thank Nigerians for their show of love to him during ,and after his Birthday, assured steadfastness of the National Assembly in fulfilling its duties to the nation.
