The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reported revenue generation of ₦215 billion for the month of August 2025 through the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu.
Announcing the figures in Lagos, Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, attributed the feat to increasing confidence in the homegrown platform and the resilience of officers who sustained operations despite reported network hitches.
“The August 2025 collection on the B’Odogwu system is a testament to the resilience of officers whose patriotism has kept the system growing amidst challenges,” Olomu said.
He thanked stakeholders for their unwavering support and belief in the platform’s capacity to meet the expectations of the trading community, particularly importers and exporters who do business through the premier port of Apapa.
Olomu noted that several confidence-building engagements led personally by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, have further strengthened trust in the UCMS. He disclosed that the CGC has directed the ICT/Modernisation Department of NCS Headquarters to provide sustained technical support, promptly resolve user complaints, and ensure steady improvements in service delivery.
According to him, the patience and cooperation of stakeholders ranging from licensed customs agents to freight forwarders remain invaluable contributions to the national economy and to the success of the B’Odogwu system.
“Our collection of ₦215 billion using the B’Odogwu platform confirms progress in our ongoing journey to build a dependable platform for trade by Nigerians and for all those doing import, export, and excise business in Nigeria,” the Controller said.
“This is a collective victory for all of us, and we shall continue in the march forward for greater successes in days, weeks, and months ahead. We are braving all odds, and the sky is our limit,” he added.
The UCMS, developed as part of Customs modernisation, is aimed at revolutionising Nigeria’s trade ecosystem through automation and efficiency. With August’s collection, the Apapa Command says it is confident the platform is on the verge of even greater breakthroughs.
