The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has condoled with Our Nigeria News over the passing of its editor, Mr. Lawrence Bilal Audu, describing him as an embodiment of hard work and professionalism.
Audu, a respected Defence Correspondent and Editor-in-Chief of North East Star Magazine, reportedly passed away in his sleep on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
In a condolence message to Our Nigeria News, General Musa acknowledged Audu’s commitment to ethical journalism and his steadfast adherence to the principles of accurate and responsible reporting.
The CDS recalled his interactions with Audu during his tenure as Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East, noted that the journalist’s efficiency and dedication in covering the region’s security challenges were commendable.
“Lawrence was a hardworking, patriotic, and dedicated journalist with a fine disposition. His passion for truth and professional integrity was evident in his work,” General Musa stated.
He extended his condolences to Audu’s family and colleagues, prayed for divine guidance and support for those he left behind. The Defence Chief also urged members of Our Nigeria News to uphold the late journalist’s legacy by continuing his pursuit of professionalism and excellence in media practice.
