The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Rear Admiral Musa Bello Katagum in Abuja, describing the deceased senior officer as a dedicated professional whose service significantly strengthened the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Navy.
The visit, which took place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, formed part of efforts by the Nigerian Navy leadership to honour the memory and legacy of the late officer while expressing institutional solidarity with his family during their period of mourning.
During the solemn visit, Vice Admiral Abbas conveyed deep sorrow over the passing of Rear Admiral Katagum, noted that his dedication, leadership qualities, and commitment to duty left a lasting impact on the Service. As part of the condolence engagement, the Chief of the Naval Staff signed the condolence register in honour of the late Rear Admiral, acknowledged his invaluable contributions and enduring influence within the Nigerian Navy.
The CNS was accompanied on the visit by his Principal Staff Officer, Commodore Sulieman Muhammed.
