The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has applauded the remarkable achievement of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru, who successfully completed a 35-day motorbike expedition from Nigeria to Belgium.
Ogboru, popularly known as Tracta 2, embarked on the daring journey on August 1, 2025, covering about 10,265 kilometres across two continents and ten countries before arriving at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels at exactly 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, praised her courage, resilience, and purposeful advocacy, described the feat as a source of pride to the Service and the nation at large. He noted that the achievement reflects the Customs’ commitment to supporting bold initiatives that promote resilience, innovation, and inclusivity.
“The Service is proud of Assistant Comptroller Ogboru’s accomplishment, which not only projects a positive image of Nigeria but also reinforces advocacy for women empowerment, girl-child education, and cross-border research,” the Comptroller-General said in a statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, PhD.
Ogboru’s ride, themed “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research”, was designed to spotlight gender inclusivity and girl-child empowerment while also promoting cross-border mobility and cultural exchange.
The Service urged Nigerians to draw inspiration from Ogboru’s courage and determination, stressed that her pioneering journey stand as a beacon of hope and motivation for women and young people breaking barriers across different sectors.
