The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Thursday, September 4, 2025, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja, where stakeholders across the federation unanimously reaffirmed their support for the leadership of Chief (Dr.) Kolawole Adewoyin as the authentic National President of the association, in line with the Supreme Court judgment.
The AGM, which attracted members and industry players from different zones, provided a platform to review the association’s performance, deliberate on sector challenges, and chart a roadmap for greater stability in the downstream petroleum industry.
In his keynote address, Chief (Dr.) Kolawole Adewoyin commended members for their resilience in sustaining petroleum products distribution and energy security nationwide despite economic and regulatory pressures. He emphasized unity, innovation, and accountability as the foundation for repositioning IPMAN to play a stronger role in Nigeria’s economic development.
“We have navigated challenges, adapted to changes, and continued to serve our nation with utmost dedication. As we look to the future, let us reaffirm our commitment to excellence, innovation, and unity of purpose,” Chief Adewoyin said.
The association also pledged its readiness to partner with the Dangote Refinery to ensure smooth distribution of refined products across the country, described the facility as a game-changer for the downstream sector. Chief Adewoyin further expressed IPMAN’s full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing reforms in the oil and gas industry, noted that the policies will help drive investment, efficiency, and transparency.
Stakeholders at the AGM expressed confidence in Adewoyin’s leadership and pledged continued loyalty and cooperation to strengthen supply chains and enhance collaboration with policymakers and investors.
Speaking after the elections, Chairman of the Kaduna Depot, Alhaji Musa Tanko, said the peaceful conduct of the AGM reflected IPMAN’s renewed commitment to unity and progress.
“Today’s election has shown that we are one family under the leadership of Chief Kolawole Adewoyin. The process was transparent, credible, and peaceful. We stand firmly behind his leadership, and together, we will ensure IPMAN plays its rightful role in supporting Nigeria’s economy,” Alhaji Tanko stated.
The Abuja meeting also reaffirmed IPMAN’s guiding principles of transparency, fairness, accountability, and sustainable development, while members pledged renewed commitment to working together to advance Nigeria’s energy security and national growth.
The AGM elections were adjudged by stakeholders to be transparent, peaceful, and successful, further consolidating unity within the association. IPMAN equally restated its readiness to collaborate closely with NNPC Limited to strengthen product distribution and ensure a stable supply chain nationwide.
