The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has felicitated Muslims in Nigeria as they joined adherents of the faith across the world in marking the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
Lawan enjoined them to use the occasion for deep reflection on the virtuous life of Prophet Mohammed and the message of peace, love, tolerance, humility, fairness and justice which he preached in words and deeds.
“I felicitate fellow Muslims as we celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed and what he stands for.
“As we mark this occasion, we should imbibe the virtues of the Prophet which include peace, love, tolerance, humility, fairness and justice.
“It is by imbibing these virtues in our personal lives and as a people that the celebration of his birth can have meaning,” Lawan said.
The Senate President assured Nigerians that the National Assembly will continue to make the relevant legislative interventions for a peaceful and more secured country.
Lawan wished all happy and peaceful celebrations.
