Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has commended Garkuwan Talban Minna Foundation for its contribution towards alleviating poverty in the state.
The Governor gave the commendation at the presentation of merit award , Empowerment of beneficiaries on skill acquisition, financial support to Non Governmental Organizations and Distribution of exercise books to the 25 Local Government Areas in the state.
Governor Sani-Bello who applauded the activities and impact of the NGO on the lives of citizens said it will go a long way to empower both youths and women in the state.
“This is a very good and interesting initiative. From what I have heard the NGO has been doing very well. Of course they have been changing their processes from time to time to meet up with current situation. ”
For me this describes something clearly that it does not matter the amount given to you. What matters is how you use it as we have heard from the testimonies given.”
He however advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the financial support given to them by the NGO and also encouraged those that are capable to carry out such initiatives.
Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of merit awards to some distinguished Nigerians, the driver ( Alh Aliyu,Sarkin Mota) and orderly (Alhaji Sani One Minute) to Late Sadauna of Sokoto, Alhaji Sir Ahmadu Bello.
The foundation which is a brain-child of Alhaji Sulieman Yahaya Babangida, Garkuwa Talban Minna empowered over 600 beneficiaries during the event.
