The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging continued support for the reform agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred Islamic festival that reflects faith, sacrifice, obedience, love, and devotion to Almighty Allah.
He noted that the celebration, which commemorates the exemplary obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, represents key virtues such as selflessness, unity, compassion, tolerance, and submission to divine will.
According to him, these values are especially relevant to Nigeria’s current national situation, where sacrifice, patience, perseverance, and collective responsibility are required to strengthen national unity and drive development.
The APC chairman called on Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah, to use the occasion to promote peaceful coexistence and deepen harmony across ethnic, religious, and political divides.
He stressed that the Eid celebration should further strengthen bonds of brotherhood, understanding, and love among citizens, regardless of background.
Yilwatda also reiterated his call for support for the administration of President Tinubu, noting that the ongoing reforms are aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable economic growth, improved infrastructure, enhanced national security, job creation, and long-term prosperity.
He acknowledged that the reforms may come with challenges and require patience and sacrifice, but maintained that they are necessary steps toward restoring economic stability and strengthening national institutions.
The APC National Chairman expressed confidence that Nigeria, under President Tinubu’s leadership, would emerge stronger, more resilient, and more competitive in the global economy.
He further urged Nigerians to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to pray for peace, unity, security, and progress in the country, as well as for wisdom and divine guidance for leaders at all levels of governance.
Yilwatda prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the sacrifices and worship of the faithful, while granting families peace, joy, good health, and abundant blessings during and after the festive period.
He wished all Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world a peaceful, joyous, and memorable Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
