The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed a viral social media video alleging that police officers engaged in a physical confrontation and prevented the Governor of Bauchi State from entering the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, 18th November 2025.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement said the claims contained in the circulating video were “false, misleading, and do not represent what transpired” at Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5.
She explained that the brief congestion at the Secretariat entrance was caused by private security personnel and bouncers who obstructed the Governor’s movement as he arrived for the PDP Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee meetings. According to her, police officers only intervened to clear the obstruction and create a secure passage for the Governor.
Adeh emphasized that officers did not scuffle with anyone nor prevent the Governor’s access, contrary to the narrative trending online.
FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, urged journalists and social media users to verify information before sharing, warning that sensational or unverified content could mislead the public and heighten tension in the Federal Capital Territory.
