The Former Head of Interim National Government that succeeded the junta of General Ibrahim Babangida,Chief Ernest Shonekan has died.
Shonekan died in a Lekki, Lagos hospital at the age of 85.
Shonekan was made Chairman of ING by Babangida following the annulment of the June 12,1993 Presidential election won by the late business mogul, Chief MKO Abiola
He served as the interim head of the Nigerian Government between August 26 and November 17 1993 when he was ousted in a coup led by late General Sani Abacha.
