Gov Okpebholo Signs N675bn 2025 Budget Into Law

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill of N675 billion into law. Tagged ‘Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo’, the budget aims to rejuvenate the state’s economy and deliver democratic dividends to its people.

 

The signing ceremony took place at the Government House in Benin City on Monday, shortly after the bill was passed by the Edo State House of Assembly.

 

In his remarks, Governor Okpebholo described the budget as a tool for economic revival, stressing its focus on capital expenditure.

 

“I have just signed into law a budget of 675,220,058,858.52, tagged A Renewed Hope Budget for a Rising Edo. This 2025 approved budget is expected to revive the economy of Edo State and deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of the state,” he said.

 

The Governor commended the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, and other lawmakers for their dedication to the budget process.

 

Speaking during the presentation of the bill, Rt. Hon. Agbebaku revealed that the Assembly had increased the budget from its initial N605 billion to ensure more funds were allocated to critical sectors like agriculture.

 

Governor Okpebholo assured citizens that his administration remained committed to massive capital projects in the new fiscal year, aligning with the budget’s vision of a rising and prosperous Edo State.
