Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello on Wednesday sworn in two new high court judges and two Permanent Secretaries with a charge on them to discharge their duties and responsibilities with the fear of God.
The governor who gave the charge shortly after the swearing in ceremony at the Council Chamber of Government House admonished them to “in still the fear of God in all they do as there will be temptations especially as regards worldly things.” Adding that “they need to be strong”.
The Governor expressed confidence on the calibre of the newly appointed high court judges, stressing that he was certain the judicial officers will discharge their respective duties diligently.
He explained that the appointment of the Permanent Secretaries was based on merit and has urged them to continue with the leadership qualities they were known for before their elevation.
According to the governor, “ You have been in the system for quiet sometime, you have displayed leadership qualities and honesty. You have shown dedication to work and by the grace of God you are now made Permanent Secretaries today. It was not by anybody’s intervention. Nobody came to lobby for you and I believe your appointments were strictly based on merit. “
The governor then prayed for God’s guidance for the new officers as they carry out their various responsibilities.
The newly sworn in high court judges were Justice Bilikisu Gambo and Justice Ishaqu Usman while the Permanent secretaries, who have since been assigned offices were Mallam Aliyu Isah Ekan – Cabinet and Security and Dr. Abdul Hussaini – Land and Housing.
