The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved a sweeping reorganization within the Nigeria Police Force, ordering the posting of senior officers to key positions across the country in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and enhancing service delivery.
The directive, which was contained in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, on Tuesday, underscored the Force’s commitment to reinforcing its command structure and ensuring the strategic deployment of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments.
As part of the reshuffle, several Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) were assigned to critical departments at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. AIG Ado Emmanuel was posted to Research and Planning, while AIG Joseph Eribo will head the Department of Armament. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye takes charge of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche moves to Training and Development. AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo was deployed to Police Accounts and Budget, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed was assigned to Zone 15, Maiduguri.
Other AIG postings include Dankombo F. Morris to Zone 4, Makurdi; Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina; Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to Legal Services at Force Headquarters; Ahmed Musa to Community Policing; Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos; Simeon U. Akpanudom to FCID Annex, Lagos; and Haruna Olufemi to the Special Protection Unit.
In the same vein, the IGP redeployed several Commissioners of Police (CPs) to state commands and strategic units. CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya was posted to Jigawa State Command, while CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin moves to Welfare at Force Headquarters. CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola takes over Oyo State Command, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi heads Delta State Command, and CP Olubode Ojajuni was assigned to Ogun State Command.
Similarly, CP Michael Adegoroye Falade was posted to Ekiti State Command; CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro to Adamawa State Command; CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command; CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai to Lagos State Command; CP Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba State Command; CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara State Command; CP Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina State Command; and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.
The reorganization also saw CP Akan Ezima appointed Director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja, while CP Abbas Sule was posted to the Special Protection Unit. CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue moves to INTERPOL, Abuja, and CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus becomes Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.
Further deployments include CP Danjuma I. Yahaya to General Investigation, FCID Annex Kaduna; CP Sheik M. Danko to FCID Annex Lagos; and CP Moses Ashu Otta to SWAT, Abuja. Others were assigned to specialised units including the Eastern Ports Authority, INEC, K9, Special Fraud Unit, and Community Safety and Crime Prevention.
The IGP charged all affected officers to bring their experience to bear in their new roles, emphasizing professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty.
