Gov Sani-Bello Urges Nigerians to Embrace Peaceful Coexistence

The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani- Bello has called on Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance and promote peaceful co-existence in the country.

Governor Sani-Bello made the call during the opening ceremony of Tunga-Malam Central Mosque in Paikoro Local Government Area of the state. The mosque was built by Dr Sulieman Bala.

He said that the latest trend on hate speech among Nigerians was inimical to peaceful co-existence that must be checked with immediate effect.

“If the phenomenon is not checked immediately, it is capable of degenerating into insecurity that will disrupt national peace.

“Nigerians should stop taking law into their hands, and should learn how to ignore rumors and go about their normal businesses without fear, rather we should promote peace,” he said.

Alhaji Sani-Bello appealed to religious and traditional leaders in the country to advocate for peace among their subject, desist from utterances capable of dividing the country.

In attendance during the commissioning were the Secretary to the State Government, Honorable Isah Ladan, the Chief of Staff, Hon. Mikail Al-amin Bimtosahi, Emir of Minna, Dr.Umaru Farouk.
Also in attendance were Commissioners and the Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Malam Ibrahim Fari, who led the jumaat prayers. and other stakeholders in the state.
