The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has officially unveiled the mascot, logo, and theme for the 15th Biennial Nigeria Police Games, set to hold in Asaba, Delta State, in February 2026.
The unveiling ceremony, held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Peacekeeping Conference Centre, Force Headquarters, Abuja, marked a significant milestone in preparations for the Games and highlighted the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to hosting a successful and memorable sporting event.
IGP Egbetokun described the occasion as a moment of pride for the Force, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and morale among officers. He also highlighted how the Games strengthen community engagement, professionalism, and unity across the Force.
The IGP expressed gratitude to the Delta State Government, led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for hosting the 2026 edition, and commended the Delta Sports Commission and the Force Sports Planning Committee under the leadership of AIG Fom Pam Joseph for their dedication and hard work in ensuring seamless organization.
Explaining the symbolic essence of the mascot, IGP Egbetokun said it represents the Force’s core values of courage, unity, fitness, and excellence. He also presented the Theme, “Beyond the Badge; Excellence in Action,” and the Slogan, “Discipline, Dignity, and Dedication.”
The event was attended by eminent personalities, including representatives of Governor Oborevwori and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, as well as the President of the Police Officers Wives Association, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, senior police officers, and directors of sports from sister security agencies.
Assuring officers, athletes, and stakeholders of the Force’s commitment, IGP Egbetokun expressed confidence that the Asaba 2026 Police Games would deliver an outstanding and memorable sporting experience, promoting unity, professionalism, and the enduring spirit of service within the Nigeria Police Force.
