The Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has commended the leadership and personnel of agencies under the Ministry for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to improving service delivery and strengthening national security across the country.
Speaking at the end of a three-day strategic engagement with heads of agencies and senior officials, the Minister described the Ministry of Interior as a united institution working towards a common goal of protecting Nigerians and strengthening national institutions.
He emphasised the importance of teamwork and collaboration among the Ministry and its agencies, stressing that collective responsibility remains key to effective public service delivery.
“Our mantra in the Ministry of Interior is one for all, all for one. We must support one another and ensure that we deliver results for Nigerians,” the Minister stated.
As part of efforts to deepen accountability and ensure measurable outcomes, the Minister also signed the 2026 Performance Bonds with heads of agencies under the Ministry, reaffirming government’s commitment to improved service delivery and institutional efficiency.
Tunji-Ojo noted that the Ministry recorded significant progress over the past year across its agencies, including improved border management by the Nigeria Immigration Service, faster emergency response by the Federal Fire Service, strengthened protection of critical national assets by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and ongoing reforms within the Nigerian Correctional Service.
While acknowledging these achievements, the Minister cautioned against complacency, urging officers to remain focused on delivering better services to Nigerians.
Looking ahead to 2026, he called on agencies under the Ministry to remain committed to their mandates and avoid distractions arising from political activities expected during the year.
The Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s determination to strengthen national institutions, enhance public safety, and deliver efficient services to citizens.
“A new Nigeria is possible, achievable, and attainable. Together, through dedication and collaboration, we can make that vision a reality,” he said.
The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry to align its agencies with government priorities on security, safety, and improved service delivery for Nigerians.
