The Maiden Abuja Interior and Furniture Virtual Expo 2025 has officially commenced, marking a significant step in leveraging digital technology to showcase innovations, market trends, and business opportunities in Nigeria’s interior design and furniture sector. The expo, which is supported by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, and Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science & Technical,aimed to boost the visibility of local manufacturers and promote economic growth within the industry.
Declaring the event open, Architect Faisal Jafar Rafindadi, the Convener and Project Coordinator, emphasized the expo’s role in driving industry growth, fostering collaborations, and connecting stakeholders across the value chain. He noted that the virtual format provided a unique platform for manufacturers, designers, and enthusiasts to explore emerging trends and expand their networks.
Earlier,in his welcome address, Dr. Kabir Mustapha, the Director of Contact and Mobilization, highlighted the expo’s alignment with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which seek to harness digital innovation for economic advancement. He expressed optimism that the event would set a new benchmark for the industry, with plans already underway for a physical edition in the last quarter of the year to further enhance engagement and business opportunities.
The event also had in attendance Ibrahim Jafar, Director of Special Duties; Fatima Abbas Hassan, Director of Media Strategy; and Engr. Hayatudeen Bashir, Director of Interior Design, alongside industry leaders, exhibitors, and business stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.
A major highlight of the event was the live streaming of furniture and interior décor products, allowing vendors to showcase and market their designs to a wider audience. This digital approach is expected to boost visibility, drive business partnerships, and position Nigeria as a hub for interior design excellence.
