Niger state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello on Friday intervened in the crises brewing among members of articulated and tanker drivers who due to some grievances against the men of the Nigeria Police Force barricaded Minna- Suleja road from Chanchaga bridge to Paggo, causing hold up while some passengers had to divert to the old route through the IBB Specialist Hospital. ..
While interacting with the drivers who gave reasons for their actions alleged that men of the Joint Task Force manning the road block were using the terms of operation given by the state government to extort money from their members which they said they were not happy with and for the act to stop ,they had to use the traffic logjam to attract government attention..
Governor Sani Bello then directed the Commissioner of Police Adamu Usman to immediately see to how best to address the issue to allow for proper and free vehicular movement and advised them to be of good behavior as well as law abiding citizens
Governor Sani Bello ,who could be seen vividly directing traffic for over an hour to relax the stand up and ensure smooth movement of vehicles before departing the scene advised all and sundry to remain peace loving as Niger state is known for peaceful coexistence.
