The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has expressed confidence that the Federal Government’s injection of N98 billion into primary healthcare centres (PHCs) across the country will significantly enhance the delivery of healthcare services at the grassroots.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Segun Ogedengbe, the group said the funding demonstrates that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery at the community level.
According to TMV, the Federal Government disbursed the N98 billion in 2025 as part of efforts to boost productivity, security, and economic growth by improving access to primary healthcare services nationwide.
The group noted that details of the investment were disclosed during the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Health Convention and Roundtable held in Abuja, describing the intervention as one of the largest single-year investments in grassroots healthcare delivery in recent years.
TMV commended the initiative, stating that it is expected to bring an additional 5,212 facilities into the healthcare network, thereby expanding access to quality medical services, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
The statement added that the funding aligns with the Tinubu administration’s broader policy objective of repositioning the health sector as a critical pillar of national development.
It further revealed that as a result of the financial intervention, about 2,565 health centres have already been upgraded, while 1,456 primary healthcare centres are currently undergoing renovation across the country.
TMV expressed the belief that sustained investment in rural health institutions will strengthen communities, improve public health outcomes, and enhance the productivity of the local population.
