A Three-Day Diaspora Technical Exchange Programme has kicked-started in London, United Kingdom.
The Programme being sponsored by the International Centre for Migration
Policy Development (ICMPD) has experts drawn from the African Foundation For Development (AFFORD), UK based consulting Organisation with firm bias on Diaspora-related issues.
Meanwhile, Delegates from the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission drawn from key departments and units are attending the Technical Exchange Programme to upscale skills and competences in understanding key Global concepts of Diaspora, Migration and Development Policy. Other thematic
areas include:
-Diaspora mapping,
-Diaspora motivations,
-Diaspora remittances,
– Diaspora engagement strategies,
– Diaspora Investment, return and reintegration, and many others.
The key objective of the technical exchange is understanding of notable key global and regional policies that have direct bearing on Diaspora,migration and development.
The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), is an intergovernmental institution with legal status of an international organisation with a headquarters agreement with the Republic of Austria,Vietnam and a regional office in Abuja.
