Niger State Government has reiterated its continued commitment to give Agriculture all the necessary attention in order to transform the economic fortunes of the State.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane disclosed this when he visited Efugo Farms Limited in Otukpa, Benue State.
Ahmed Matane who visited the Farms on invitation of Chief Audu Innocent Ogbeh, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Chief Executive Officer of Efugo Farms, was highly impressed with what he saw at Cashew and Palm Kernel Plantations.
Ahmed Matane then called on the people of the State to take interest in commercial agriculture so as to compliment government’s effort towards generating employment and revenue.
The SSG stressed the need for the people of the State to channel their energy to the area of agriculture for the socio-economic development and growth of the State.
He further called on the youth to shun all forms of criminality and rise to be employers of labour through agriculture with a view to making the State great.
While congratulating the CEO of Efugo Farms for the feat, Ahmed Matane commended Chief Audu Ogbe for embarking on such elaborate venture.
Earlier, the former Minister of Agriculture and CEO of Efugo Farms, Chief Audu Innocent Ogbeh commended the present administration in Niger state led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for showing great interest in promoting agriculture in the State.
The SSG stated that his visit to Efugo Farms will afford Niger State the opportunity to tap from the agricultural experience of Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Ahmed Matane had earlier paid a courtesy visit to the renowned musician, Bongos Ikweu at his country home in Otukpo, Benue State.
The two by two kilometers of Cashew estate visited by the SSG had about fourteen thousand trees.
