2nd Anniversary: Oyetola appreciates citizens, women for support, prayers … promises better days ahead

State of Osun Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, on Saturday, thanked all the citizens of the State, particularly women, for their unrelenting support for the Administration.
This was just as the Governor pledged better days ahead for all the citizens of the State.
The Governor said the numerous achievements of his administration in the last two years could not have been possible without the prayers of citizens.
He also commended women for being a strong pillar of support for his Administration, described them as dependable mothers whose prayers and involvement in governance have assisted the government.
Governor Oyetola, who spoke at the special prayer session organised by women groups in the State, held at the Government House, Osogbo, commended the existing unity among different social-political and religious groups in the State.
He maintained that the unity and cooperation displayed at the prayer session was a testimony to the fact that there is peaceful coexistence among the residents of the State.
The Governor admonished citizens to keep up with this positive attitude to help the State sustain its peace profile.
“This gathering is a gathering of success and merry making. This prayer means a lot to me because of the fact that women in the State decided on their own to organise this prayer. I only got to know about it yesterday.
“As we all know, this State needs prayer, and for our women to have organised this prayer, they should be appreciated. With this prayer, it shows that we are starting the third year of our administration on a good note.
“Women are our mothers. Whoever they support will surely succeed. This is a government for women. We have been able to come this far because of the support we get from women, beginning from my wife. She has been a strong pillar of support for me and our Administration.
“I thank all of you for your prayers. Your prayers have remained the key for our success because it is God’s doing. When I promised to pay salaries, I didn’t keep money somewhere. I put my hope in God and He has never let us down. Also the roads we are constructing are made possible with the help of God. We still have a lot more for the wellbeing of our people and the development of the State,” Oyetola stated.
In attendance at the special prayer session, were the wife of the Governor, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola; the Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Alabi; House of Representatives member representing Irewole Federal Constituency in the State, Hon. Taiwo Oluga; the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullahi Binuyo; members of cabinet and their spouses; religious groups; Osun women in politics led by the APC women leader in the State, Alhaja Kudirat Fakokunde, and other women groups in the State.
