The Niger State Police Command has announced the deployment of personnel and operational assets across the state to ensure adequate security during the 2026 Easter celebrations.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, ordered the strategic deployment ahead of the festivities scheduled to hold between April 3 and 6, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, the deployment will cover places of worship, recreational centers, amusement parks, and other public locations, including critical infrastructure across the state, to ensure public safety and a peaceful celebration.
Elleman felicitated with residents of Niger State, particularly the Christian community, on the occasion of Easter, and appreciated citizens for their continued support to security agencies.
He urged residents to remain law-abiding and to cooperate with the police by providing timely and useful information that could aid in the prevention and detection of crime.
The Commissioner emphasized that collective effort remains key to maintaining peace and security, noting that unity is essential in achieving a safe environment for all.
He also called on members of the public to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity for swift police response.
