The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has declared the total commitment of the present administration led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to the completion of Suleja International Market, Suleja.
Ahmed Matane disclosed this to newsmen shortly after he undertook on the spot assessment of construction of Suleja International Market and Madalla Market.
The SSG who was marveled at the scope of work expressed optimism that when completed the Suleja International Market would totally transform not only the economy of Suleja but the State as a whole.
He stated that the Government was pushing for the completion of both Suleja International Market and Madalla Market because of their value addition to the State’s economy.
The Suleja International Market which is situated on 178 hectres of land consisted a terminal building, warehouses, administrative block, restaurant, motel, and household building,.
Ahmed Matane also revealed that Government would expedite action towards the completion of the new Madalla Market because of the hazardous location of the present Market, stressed that when the new Market is completed it will increase the internal revenue of the State.
The SSG further enjoined the contractors handling the two projects to deploy more equipment and manpower to ensure speedy completion of the jobs.
In their separate remarks, the contractors assured the SSG that necessary equipment will be deployed to reach expected milestones.
Ahmed Matane was accompanied by the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Dr. Mustapha Jibrin, and Commissioner of Environment, Barr. Mohammed Tanko Zakari.
Others included the Permanent Secretary, Economic Affairs, Yahaya Babawachiko, Permanent Secretary, Trade, Commerce and Investment, Hussaini Ahmed, Chairman, Suleja Local Government Council, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu Maje, and other top Government functionaries.
