The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has undertaken a sweeping reorganisation of its top hierarchy, approving the redeployment of 162 senior officers across key formations in a major strategic shake-up aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and improving road safety outcomes nationwide.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, approved the wide-ranging postings, which include the appointment of four new Zonal Commanding Officers and the strategic redeployment of Sector Commanders to critical locations across the country, including the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, Kaduna, Bauchi, Imo, Benue, Yobe, Ogun, Delta, Osun, Kogi, Bayelsa, and Akwa Ibom States.
In a significant development, the Corps also appointed a new Corps Public Education Officer, elevating Deputy Corps Public Education Officer, Deputy Corps Commander Osondu Ohaeri, to spearhead a more dynamic and responsive public communication strategy for the Corps.
According to the statement, the newly appointed Zonal Commanding Officers are Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) C.Z. Mathew (RS5HQ Benin), ACM A.L.O. Ruk (RS9HQ Enugu), ACM B.S. Akande (RS10HQ Sokoto), and ACM Leye Adegboyega (RS12HQ Bauchi). They are expected to provide strategic leadership and oversight across their respective zones.
The Corps Marshal further announced the deployment of several Corps Commanders to new Sector Command positions as part of efforts to reposition field operations for enhanced performance.
The new Sector Commanders include AP Longkam (Kaduna), O. Ogunjobi (Ogun), VA Kayode-Oni (Benue), PE Bedford (Edo), CE Edem (Delta), FA Ajatta (Rivers), FM Kalu (Akwa Ibom), SO Ordu (Bayelsa), and T. Iliyasu (FCT).
Others redeployed are KB Kazeem (Kwara), LL Fagge (Kogi), ON Okoro (Imo), ST Adebayo (Osun), SD Kehinde (Oyo), I. Baba (Yobe), and CS Luka (Bauchi).
The Corps Marshal stated that the redeployment was guided by competence, proven track record, and the operational demands of national service, stressing that the FRSC remains committed to placing its best personnel in positions where they can deliver maximum impact.
He charged the newly appointed officers to bring renewed professionalism, discipline, and strategic focus to their duties, while reinforcing the Corps’ zero tolerance for traffic violations and preventable road crashes.
The restructuring, the Corps noted, form part of its broader efforts to enhance road safety enforcement, improve public education, and strengthen nationwide operational effectiveness.
