The Federal Government of Nigeria has congratulated the Republic of Chad on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed the message in a goodwill note to his Chadian counterpart, His Excellency Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chadians Abroad and International Cooperation.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Monday in Abuja, Ambassador Tuggar lauded Chad’s resilience, unity, and patriotic leadership, noting that the bond between the two nations is anchored on shared history, cultural affinity, and regional cooperation.
He stressed that Nigeria remained committed to expanding collaboration with Chad in trade, security, education, and regional integration under the frameworks of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union (AU).
The statement also commended Chad’s steadfast contributions to peace, stability, and development in the region, particularly through the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), while expressing optimism for deeper partnership for the prosperity of both peoples.
