Nigeria congratulates China on National Day, reaffirms commitment to strong bilateral relations

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended warm congratulations to the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of its National Day. In a press release signed by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed heartfelt congratulations to his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.

The ministry highlighted China’s remarkable journey of nation-building, resilience, and innovation, which continues to inspire the global community. Nigeria valued its close relations with China, built on mutual trust, shared aspirations, and strong cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres. The ministry reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to further strengthening its strategic partnership with China, particularly in areas such as trade, infrastructure development, investment, education, and technology.
This commitment is evident within both bilateral and multilateral platforms, including the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). Nigeria recognizes China’s constructive role in promoting peace, multilateral dialogue, and global development. The ministry expressed readiness to deepen bilateral relations, explore new areas of partnership, and promote greater people-to-people ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.
The ministry wished the Government and people of the People’s Republic of China peace, prosperity, and Nigeria’s continuing friendship and support as they celebrate this significant milestone.
This gesture underscored the importance of diplomatic relations between nations and highlighted the potential for increased cooperation between Nigeria and China.
