The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) showcased its commitment to interagency collaboration with the premiere of the film Beyond the Badge on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Silverbird Cinema in Kaduna. The event brought together representatives from various sister agencies, highlighting the importance of teamwork in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and combating smuggling.
Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Adekunle Oloyede, represented by Deputy Comptroller Amwe Aku, emphasized that the film reflects the NCS’s innovation-driven leadership under the Comptroller-General of Customs. He noted that the production underscores the vital partnerships between the NCS and security agencies in achieving shared national security goals.
Superintendent Titus Omajali, speaking on behalf of National Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent Abdullahi Maiwada, praised the film for depicting the united efforts of Customs and other security agencies in protecting Nigeria’s borders. Representatives from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Kaduna State Police Command also attended, commending the NCS for fostering collaboration through creative storytelling.
Film Director ,Dr. Agozie Ugwu described Beyond the Badge as a tribute to the collective efforts of all security agencies in ensuring peace and development. The event was hailed as a model for promoting transparency and public understanding of the crucial roles these agencies play in safeguarding the nation. The NCS expressed gratitude to attendees and reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to teamwork and fulfilling its mandate of national service.
