In a bold display of tactical precision, the Nigerian Army on 26 January 2026 rescued eleven (11) Nigerians who had been held captive for 92 days, successfully thwarted a terrorist attempt to move the victims along the Kaduna–Abuja Expressway.
Troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Doka, using high-definition long-range CCTV surveillance, detected the armed kidnappers attempting to transport the hostages through the Gidan Duna–Amale bush track under cover of darkness. A swift, coordinated response involving tactical vehicles and motorcycles forced the criminals to abandon the captives and flee into nearby scrubland.
The rescued individuals included five adult males, three adult females, and three children, all abducted from Gada Mallam Maman Community on 26 October 2025. The operation highlighted the Nigerian Army’s effective combination of modern surveillance technology and agile ground tactics, reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens, securing vital routes, and denying criminals any safe haven.
