In a major victory against criminal gangs, troops of Sector 7, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have successfully raided a kidnappers’ hideout in Badurum Kasa Forest, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, rescuing eight abducted victims unharmed.
Acting on credible intelligence, the troops, in collaboration with the Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards, and local hunters, advanced into the forest. At around 5:59 p.m., contact was made with the kidnappers, who, overwhelmed by the joint force’s superior numbers and precision, abandoned their captives and fled into the bush.
The rescued victims, aged between 11 and 52, were promptly reunited with their families. They include Mrs. Rashida Musa (19), Mrs. Hafsat Nuhu (18), Mr. Zakari Saleh (52), Miss Hasiya Yahaya (13), Mr. Ahmed Yahaya (14), Mr. Ibrahim Saiba (11), Miss Salma Yahaya (14), and Mr. Sophan Idris (18).
The operation highlighted the Nigerian Army’s commitment to robust inter-agency coordination, rapid deployment, and unwavering determination to protect lives and deny criminal elements freedom of action.
