The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration following a courtesy visit by Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), CG Kemi Nana Nandap, to the NIMC Director General and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. (Dr) Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
In a statement issued by Ayodele Babalola, Technical Advisor for Media & Communications to the DG/CEO of NIMC, the Commission said the meeting underscored both agencies’ shared resolve to enhance national security, improve identity verification systems, and deliver more efficient services to Nigerians.
CG Nandap, speaking during the visit, highlighted the strategic importance of NIMC’s role in identity management, stressing that close collaboration with NIMC is central to strengthening border security and supporting Nigeria’s broader development agenda.
In response, Engr. (Dr) Coker-Odusote welcomed the delegation and reiterated the Commission’s readiness to deepen cooperation. She emphasized that enhanced partnership would ensure stronger data integrity, smoother operational procedures, and a more secure national identity infrastructure capable of supporting modern border management.
Both agencies expressed confidence that their renewed synergy will drive innovation, inform new policies, and reinforce the nation’s security architecture through reliable, technology-driven identity and border management systems.
