The NNPC Foundation Ltd/Gte., the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of NNPC Limited, in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has trained more than 1.3 million corps members nationwide under its Financial Literacy Programme.
The initiative, designed to equip young Nigerians with essential financial management and entrepreneurial skills, continued with the Batch B, Stream 2 session held at the FCT NYSC Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, over the weekend.
Speaking at the programme, Acting Managing Director of the NNPC Foundation, Euginia Dominion, urged participating corps members to take advantage of the training to strengthen their financial knowledge and develop sustainable businesses.
Dominion said the programme, which commenced in 2023 with Kudimata Nigeria Limited as consultant, had recorded significant impact, with 531 successful participants receiving business grants and starter packs in May 2025 after a competitive assessment of their business proposals.
She encouraged the corps members to apply the knowledge acquired to make sound financial decisions, build viable enterprises and contribute to economic development.
The FCT NYSC Coordinator, Samson Ateli, commended NNPC Limited for sustaining the initiative, noting that the programme had positively influenced the mindset of corps members by promoting financial prudence, self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
With over 1.3 million corps members trained so far, the programme is helping to bridge financial knowledge gaps among Nigerian youths while creating pathways to entrepreneurship and job creation.
The initiative further underscored the NNPC Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment and its contribution to Nigeria’s economic growth by preparing young Nigerians to become financially responsible citizens, entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
