NUJ FCT Council mourns passing of Esteemed Journalist,Victor Oluwasegun

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has announced the passing of Victor Oluwasegun, a Senior Correspondent with The Nation Newspaper’s Abuja Bureau. Oluwasegun passed away on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, in Lagos, following a brief illness.

 

Renowned for his investigative prowess and comprehensive coverage of the House of Representatives, Oluwasegun made significant contributions to parliamentary reporting, earning widespread respect within the media community.

 

Colleagues remember him as a positive force, known for his infectious smile and unwavering support for others. “Victor was a beacon of positivity and a mentor to many,” a fellow journalist remarked.

 

In a statement signed by the NUJ FCT Council Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, the union extended heartfelt condolences to Oluwasegun’s family, friends, and colleagues. “His legacy of hard work and compassion will endure,” the statement noted.

 

Oluwasegun, a native of Shagamu in Ogun State, is survived by his wife and three children. An alumnus of Ogun State University and an accomplished author, he leaves behind a rich legacy of journalistic excellence.

 

The family will announce details of his burial arrangements in due course.
