NUJ FCT Council partners Bespoke Holdings to complete Ultra-Modern Congress Hall

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has announced a strategic partnership with Bespoke Holdings, an indigenous oil and gas and diversified services company, to complete the much-anticipated NUJ Ultra-Modern Congress Hall in Abuja.

The partnership was formalised during a courtesy visit by NUJ FCT leadership to Bespoke Holdings on Friday, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic collaborations and enhance professional infrastructure for journalists in the FCT.

Speaking at the meeting, NUJ FCT Chairman Ms. Grace Ike described the Congress Hall project as a “critical legacy initiative” designed to provide a state-of-the-art venue for congresses, trainings, and other major union activities. She emphasised that the hall’s completion would boost the Council’s operational capacity and support the continuous professional development of journalists.

Ms. Ike expressed gratitude to Bespoke Holdings for its commitment to the project, noting that the collaboration reflects a shared dedication to nation-building, corporate social responsibility, and media support as a cornerstone of democracy.

Responding, Managing Director of Bespoke Holdings, Dr. Christian Olatunji, reiterated the company’s readiness to support the project. He highlighted the essential role of a strong media in promoting transparency, accountability, and sustainable development, and commended journalists for their courage in speaking truth to power.

“Without journalists, I can only imagine what Nigerian politicians would have become. Even with journalists, things are still the way they are; now imagine if there were no journalists and everything was left to social media. There would be no accountability,” Dr. Olatunji remarked. “You are doing impressive work, and we are open to supporting it. Once we visit the site, we will know how best we can contribute.”

The visit also opened discussions on broader collaboration areas, including media engagement, strategic communication, and long-term mutually beneficial partnerships.

Upon completion, the NUJ FCT Ultra-Modern Congress Hall is expected to become a landmark facility for journalists in the Federal Capital Territory, symbolising unity, professionalism, and progress within Nigeria’s media landscape.
