The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has extended warm Christmas greetings to its members, urging them to embrace the spirit of the season and reflect on its deeper values.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, the Secretary of the Council, conveyed the union’s heartfelt festive wishes and encouraged members to use the occasion to renew their commitment to both the union’s progress and God’s work.
The statement also highlighted the recent untimely deaths within the council, urged members to pray for the peace and strength of the union during this challenging time. It emphasized that Christmas served as a reminder of the values of sacrifice, love, and unity, which should guide both the journalism profession and the nation.
The statement read;”Christmas is a time of love and reflection, reminding us of the exemplary life of Jesus Christ, who taught us to touch lives positively.
“On this special day, let us reach out in our little ways to put smiles on others’ faces”.
In light of the country’s ongoing economic challenges, the NUJ FCT Council encouraged members to express gratitude for the blessings of life while taking time to relax and recharge with their families and friends, reaffirmed commitment to prioritizing the welfare and interests of members as they head into the new year.
